Choosing Commercial Real Estate Signage: Three Things To Consider

When it comes to commercial real estate signage, you want to choose signs that grab attention and make potential buyers or renters take note. To do this, there are several things you'll need to take into consideration as you select the signs you'll use for each property. Here are a some things to consider that will help you garner the attention you want for your property.

Placement

Where the signs will be placed will help you to determine which types of signage to choose. Signs placed at the corner of a lot where two roads meet should have information visible to motorists on each side of the intersection. Signs in the middle of a block should be long and tall with large letters so passersby can easily read the print. For signs hung on commercial buildings, you'll want banner-style signage that can be easily hung when you have space for sale or rent.

Branding

It's not enough just to say you have property available for sale or lease. Branding on the signs offers a way to instill confidence in potential buyers. Real estate agencies can add their corporate logos to clearly label which company will be handling the sale or lease, while developers can add their company name and logo to show potential buyers that the building is of excellent quality. Be sure that your corporate branding isn't so large that the other pertinent information contained on the sign can't be seen. Consider placing your business name and logo in the corner, leaving the rest of the signage free to communicate other details about the property.

Images

Images make great additions to commercial real estate signs placed at development sites. Because the buildings aren't yet in place, potential buyers won't be able to visualize what the finished property will look like. Work with an artist to create a rendering image of the finished building, and place it in the center of your signs. This shows people what they can expect from the finished product, and it can help them imagine themselves using the building for their business needs. You can also add images of the interior for finished buildings to give people a taste of what they can expect when they open the doors.

Work with your marketing team to come up with a signage strategy for each property you are advertising, and consider several different sign options for each building. With the right placement and information, you can attract more potential buyers or renters to the commercial real estate you have available.
